What executives actually use AI for

The applications below are the ones the programme is built around. Each is described as a task, a method and a limit, because the limit is the part that determines whether the output can be relied on.

Reading a board pack against its predecessors

The task. A two-hundred-page pack arrives days before the meeting, and the material question is what changed.

The method. The current pack and prior versions are provided together, and the system is instructed to report differences by section: figures revised, language softened, items removed, and commitments whose dates have moved.

The limit. Comparison is reliable; judgement about significance is not. The output is a list of what changed, and which of those changes matters remains the director's assessment.

Drafting in an established house style

The task. Correspondence and papers that must read as the author's own, in formats used for years.

The method. A body of the author's existing correspondence is loaded, and standing instructions record the conventions: salutation, structure, register, what is never said. Drafts are then produced against those instructions rather than from a generic default.

The limit. Style transfers well; facts do not. Anything asserted in a draft requires the same verification it would have required if a junior had written it.

Running several tasks at once

The task. Analysis, drafting and annex review would ordinarily be done in sequence over days.

The method. Separate agents are given separate briefs and run in parallel, each returning to the same file. This is what is meant by agentic working, and it is more ordinary than the word suggests.

The limit. Parallel execution multiplies output and multiplies error. Each stream needs a defined stopping point and a review, or the time saved is spent reconciling contradictions.

Interrogating a proposal before it reaches the board

The task. A vendor or internal proposal asserts a capability, a saving or a timeline.

The method. The proposal is tested against four questions: what the system does when it is wrong, who is accountable for oversight, what it costs at volume rather than in the pilot, and how it behaves on sustained use rather than on the prepared demonstration.

The limit. This establishes whether a claim is coherent, not whether it is true. It is a filter for the meeting, not a substitute for diligence.

Preparing for a meeting on unfamiliar ground

The task. A counterparty, a sector or an instrument outside the director's usual remit.

The method. A structured brief is produced: what the entity is, how it earns, what has changed recently, and which questions a person who did know the sector would ask.

The limit. Recency and accuracy are the weak points, and material facts require a source. The output's value is the question list, not the summary.

What these applications have in common

None of them is the software doing the work. Each is a person who already knows what a good answer looks like, using a system to reach it faster, and retaining the judgement about whether it is right. That is the capability the programme transfers.

Forty-five minutes, by telephone or at the client's premises. No preparation, no prior reading, and nothing bought, installed or signed as a result.

Request a consultation

The request reaches the practice directly rather than a queue. We reply within one business day, and usually the same day.
